Honoring the legacy of African American women who boldly stepped up as changemakers
In celebration of Women’s History Month in March 2021, NMHS Unlimited in association with Women for Progress of MS, Inc. presented a five-part series of live broadcasts featuring inspiring conversations with and about Mississippi changemakers.
Each episode of TheLegacy of Courage will take you back in time to learn about African American women in Mississippi who modeled courage through activism. As inspiring trailblazers of days gone by, it is important that we recognize how their fight for equality paved the way for their daughters, granddaughters, and other women who now also carry that same torch for progress.
Watch and share these engaging videos with your mothers, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, friends – all of the women (and men!) in your life.
