This film celebrates the lives of Aaron Henry (president of the State chapter of the MS NAACP for over 30 years); Medgar Evers (responsible for the development of a systematic approach that exposed the terrorist environment in which Mississippians of African descent were forced to live); Fannie Lou Hamer (organizer Mississippi Freedom Summer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), and Vice-Chair of Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party); and Margaret Walker Alexander(a formidable literary voice and African American historian whose works included “For My People” and “Jubilee”.
